Meta-phor

When dictionary in feelings lacks
For writing poems more than rote facts
For other colors away from gray
A simile will save the day

Described with like or as
“Like crystal clear topaz”
“As crystal clear as topaz”
Is how you’d describe topaz

A simile you can’t forget
Despite the brain rife with regret
You failed to learn the dictionary
So you combine words ordinary

It embeds into your memory
A comparison for clarity
As as unforgettable
“Like riding a bicycle”

Here’s an example for compare:
“This gemstone is very rare”
“This gemstone is like a rare gemstone”
The latter is like a better the former’s tone

It’s a phrase the bee’s knees
Metaphors are similes
To say with apostrophe
A metaphor’s a simile
